Patriot Support Program was born out of a great need: to support the U.S. Department of Defense and Veterans Administration. The strain of multiple deployments and separations has worn greatly on the bodies, minds and spirits of service members, veterans and their families. It is not uncommon for active duty service members and veterans to struggle with depression, post traumatic stress (PTS), addiction or other behavioral health issues. We have spent the last several years expanding the locations and resources dedicated to military-specific behavioral health services. We continue to educate staff on military culture and sensitivities at all our Patriot Support locations to improve on consistent treatment with integrity and positive outcomes. We provide support for all Branches of the Military Services, their families and our Veterans.
Depression and other behavioral health issues are not just experienced by service members, but also by their families. Patriot Support Program gives back to the U.S. military veterans who have risked their safety and well-being so that we can enjoy the rights, liberties and opportunities granted by our nation.
In response to the present and growing need for high quality and intensive behavioral health services, we developed Patriot Support Program network of treatment centers, support staff and medical professionals dedicated to treating active duty service members, veterans and their families.
Thirteen UHS behavioral health facilities have been designated as Centers of Excellence under Patriot Support Program. Each location operates a dedicated unit for military personnel with an emphasis on maintaining close communication with referral sources and command. Our goal is to return all service members to full duty with honor.
Patriot Support Program represents one facet of a multi-pronged approach to serve the needs of members of the military, veterans and their families. In addition to our 13 Centers of Excellence, there are 12 other facilities designated as Support Service Centers under Patriot Support. These facilities meet the same high standards set for our Centers of Excellence but do not have a dedicated unit on campus. In total, Patriot Support Programs of UHS is composed of 25 facilities that provide quality, specialized care to the military community.
Patriot Support Program of UHS supports dedicated Military Centers of Excellence, specialized military service centers and more than 190 other TRICARE®-networked facilities, including TRICARE®-certified residential treatment centers for children and adolescents.
