Brigadier General Michael Kussman completed 37 years of distinguished government service in May, 2009. As the Under Secretary for Health, he led the nation’s largest integrated health care system. VHA directly employs more than 250,000 healthcare professionals at more than 1,400 sites of care, including hospitals, community and facility-based clinics, nursing homes, domiciliaries, readjustment counseling centers and various other facilities.

Vice Admiral David Frost retired in 1996 after 33 years of service in the U.S. Navy. His final military assignment was Deputy Commander of the U.S. Space Command and Vice Commander of NORAD. Other military assignments included Director of Operations for U.S. European Command, Commander of Carrier Group Eight, Commander of Naval Space Command, Captain of USS Seattle and USS Saratoga, Commander of two fighter squadrons and Commander of Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN).

Lieutenant General James Roudebush retired from 34 years of active duty military service in August of 2009. His last assignment was serving as Surgeon General of the Air Force in Washington D.C. Following his retirement, Dr. Roudebush became a Senior Partner in Martin, Blanck & Associates (MB&A). In November 2011, Dr. Roudebush was selected to become president of the firm.

General Fenwick retired in 2021 after 35 years of service in both the U.S. Army and Air Force. His final assignment was as Director, Office of the Joint Surgeon and Surgeon General of the National Guard, Washington, DC. His career as an Emergency Medicine Physician has included multiple deployments with a focus on austere medicine and patient movement. Following retirement, Dr. Fenwick became the Chief Medical Officer for Disaster and International Medicine for Longview Technology, Herndon, VA. He is also CEO of Marshall Creek Medical Consulting and Medical Director of 417 Healthcare, Springfield, MO.

After commissioning in the Navy in 1969, Dr. William McDaniel served for 30 years in a variety of locations such as Vietnam, Spain, Japan, Korea and Hawaii. He had a total of five commands and assumed command of the Naval Hospital in Charleston, S.C. in 1988, which became a key medical facility during Hurricane Hugo in 1989. He was selected as Rear Admiral in 1989. In June of 1990, he became the surgeon for the U.S. Pacific Command at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii. In 1992, he assumed command of the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Va. and received his second star there in 1993.

Major James Ramsey served 22 years in the U.S. Army Medical Department. He was a highly decorated combat medic Vietnam who served with the 1st Cavalry Division doing MEDVAC rescues from 1968 to 1969. In 1992, he founded Medical Services International, Inc. (MSI). He has been involved in various sectors of the healthcare field. MSI is a management consulting firm with a unique focus on the federal healthcare sector, most specifically with the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense. MSI has focused on new business development, marketing, creating healthcare alliances, and project design and management.

Joe Campa served as the 11th Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON). In this role, he held responsibilities that included the leadership, development and utilization of a 300,000-strong enlisted force. He served as the principal advisor to the Chief of Naval Operations and Secretary of the Navy on all matters involving Navy-enlisted policy. MCPON Campa was one of the first enlisted sailors in the history of the Navy to graduate from the Naval War College, where he earned a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies. Upon retirement, he became the Chief Executive Officer of Kent, Campa & Kate, Inc. (KCK). KCK is a Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Business focused on providing professional services to the Federal Government and employment opportunities for veterans and their family members.
